Kadang kalo kita melihat foto-foto hasil jepretan kita, ada suatu feeling pada sebuah foto kita yang pantas kalo dibuat monokrom/ BW, apakah pemikiran ini sudah benar? padahal kalo memang niatnya mau membuat foto monokrom harus sudah siap2 dengan konsep dan settingan kameranya juga..................nah gimana tips nya simak berikut ini :
- Shoot in RAW – the best way to maximise the quality of your black and white images is to shoot RAW, as this retains all the original data.
- Use filters – graduated neutral density filters and polrarisers are invaluable for darkening pale skies and boosting contrast.
- Meter carefully – with mono photography you'll often be shooting high-contrast subjects. To avoid burnt-out highlights, take a spot or partial meter reading from the highlights and bracket for exposures.
- Don't be afraid of noise – noise can cause big problems with colour photography, but all is forgiven when converting to mono – while digital noise won't look as good as film grain, it'll still give a gritty feel.
- Dodge and burn – in post-production, dodging shadows and burning highlights will help you achieve the perfect contrast for your shot.
